How does the salary calculator work?

Enter your annual salary, estimated employee PF rate, monthly professional tax and other monthly deductions. The calculator converts annual salary into monthly gross salary, estimates employee PF using the entered percentage, subtracts the selected deductions and estimates your monthly and annual in-hand salary.

Formula

Monthly In-Hand Salary = Monthly Gross Salary − Employee PF − Professional Tax − Other Deductions

About this calculator

A salary calculator helps estimate monthly in-hand salary from an annual salary after selected payroll deductions.

Your gross salary and in-hand salary can be different because deductions such as employee provident fund, professional tax and other payroll deductions reduce the amount you receive.

This calculator provides a simple salary estimate using the deduction values you enter. Actual salary structures can include income tax, allowances, bonuses, insurance, employer contributions and other components.

Employee PF is not necessarily calculated as a percentage of total gross salary. Actual PF deductions can depend on eligible wages, salary structure and applicable rules. This calculator therefore uses the entered PF percentage only as an estimate.

Income tax is not included in this calculator. For a more complete take-home salary estimate, tax liability and other applicable payroll components should be considered separately.

Frequently asked questions

What is a salary calculator?

A salary calculator estimates gross salary, selected deductions and approximate monthly in-hand salary based on the information you provide.

What is in-hand salary?

In-hand salary is the amount estimated to be received after applicable deductions are subtracted from gross salary.

Does this calculator calculate income tax?

No. This calculator does not calculate income tax. Tax liability can depend on the applicable tax rules, income structure, deductions, exemptions and individual circumstances.

Is employee PF always a percentage of gross salary?

No. Actual PF calculations can depend on eligible wages, salary structure and applicable statutory rules. This calculator uses the percentage entered by the user as a simple estimate.

Why can my actual in-hand salary be different?

Actual payroll may include income tax, insurance, allowances, bonuses, employer contributions, reimbursements and other deductions or components that are not included in this basic estimator.

Does annual salary mean CTC?

Not necessarily. This calculator treats the amount entered as annual salary or gross salary for estimation purposes. CTC can include employer contributions and other components that are not directly paid as monthly in-hand salary.

Can I calculate salary without PF?

Yes. Enter 0% as the employee PF rate if you want to exclude PF from this simplified calculation.
